About the event

Birds and Blooms:  This month our beginning birders walk will include searching for early spring wildflowers, including Spring Beauty, Harbinger of Spring, and the elusive but highly prized Hepatica. While most of our native spring ephemeral wildflowers bloom in April and May, the early birds get the blooms in March, and I hope we find quite a few.   As always, Beginning Birder walks are strolls not power hikes, and we will stop frequently to see what Nature has in store for us. No prior experience is required, and loaner binoculars will be available.  While I generally discourage the use of cameras when learning to bird, in this case you may want to bring a camera or cell phone to photograph the plants we see.  The trail is a bit steep in places, so be sure to wear sturdy shoes.  Trek poles are optional based on your comfort.  Your leader is Kathi Hutton.  I have been birding for 29 years primarily in Ohio, but I also travel for birds.  I currently have a Life List of 320 species in Ohio, 432 in the US, and over 500 worldwide.  I enjoy sharing birds with new birders, and it is my goal to get every person on every bird I can.

Great Parks of Hamilton County Admission $5/day or $10 for Hamilton County Resident Annual Pass ($16 Non-Resident).
